Methodology pages for every score
Seven methodology pages now explain what each of our five lens scores measures, which public sources it uses, how it is computed and what it cannot tell you.
Every neighbourhood score on PickYourPlace is a 0 to 100 number, and a number like that is only useful if you know how it was built. The methodology section now has a hub page and one page each for Property Value, Safety, Accessibility, Census and Climate, plus a page on the scoring pipeline itself.
Each lens page names its data sources, lists the inputs and their weights, explains what a score of 50 means, and states what the score does not capture. For example, the Property Value page says that an assessed value is not a sale price, and the Safety page says the score only counts incidents that get recorded.
Neighbourhood lens pages now link to the matching methodology page, so you can go from a Safety score in Calgary to how that score is calculated in one click.
