Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using PickYourPlace ("the Service"), operated by PickYourPlace ("we," "us," or "our"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PickYourPlace provides AI-powered property and neighborhood analysis tools, including interactive maps, property and community reports, side-by-side comparisons, and an AI advisor. The Service covers select Canadian cities and uses verified municipal, census, and public safety data.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to update it as needed. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription & Billing

PickYourPlace offers subscription plans with varying usage limits and features, as described on our pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual). You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods or unused subscription time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

5. Free Trial

New users may receive a free trial period with access to premium features. Trial terms, including duration and feature access, are described on our pricing page. No credit card is required for the trial. When the trial expires, continued access to premium features requires a paid subscription.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or any part of the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Systematically scrape, extract, or harvest data from the Service beyond normal personal or professional use.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service or its data without written permission.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service outside of authorized integrations.

7. AI-Generated Content

The Service includes AI-powered features that generate analysis, recommendations, and insights using frontier AI models. AI-generated responses are provided for informational purposes only. While our AI is grounded in structured data, outputs may contain inaccuracies or omissions. You should independently verify any AI-generated content before making decisions based on it.

8. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

PickYourPlace aggregates data from municipal assessments, police services, Census Canada, and other public sources. While we strive for accuracy and update our data regularly, we do not guarantee that all information is current, complete, or error-free. Our Service is not a substitute for a licensed real estate appraiser, surveyor, home inspector, or other qualified professional. Property values shown are assessed values from municipal records, not market valuations or listing prices.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, software, and data compilations within the Service are the property of PickYourPlace or its licensors. You may download or print reports generated for your personal or professional use but may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service itself.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PickYourPlace shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to request account deletion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though provisions regarding liability, disclaimers, and governing law shall survive.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
