When your search becomes serious,
take PickYourPlace with you.
A plan is not more messages. It is the part of the search that happens after you have a shortlist.
Go deeper
Investigate the neighbourhoods and addresses you are seriously considering, rather than the ones you happened to hear about.
Compare your finalists
Where each option wins, where it compromises, and what would change the decision.
Keep your Companion with you
Your priorities, shortlist, questions and the places you ruled out, carried across the whole search instead of one session.
Decide with confidence
Decision reports and due-diligence guidance, including what the data cannot settle for you.
Where free stops,
and a plan starts.
A family of four moving from Toronto to Calgary. Everything in the first column costs nothing.
Free
- Tells the Companion: moving from Toronto with two kids, working downtown, schools and parks matter, commute under 30 minutes.
- Gets a handful of areas worth looking at, each with why it fits and what it asks her to give up.
- Reads the neighbourhood pages, opens the map, checks the quiz against her instincts.
Once it is serious
- Saves the four areas she is serious about, so they survive closing the tab.
- Runs a deep analysis on each, and on two specific addresses.
- Compares her three finalists side by side on the priorities she actually set.
- Keeps her open questions and concerns attached to the search.
- Generates a decision report, including what she should go and verify herself.

Before you decide.
Can I try PickYourPlace for free?
Yes, and without an account. You can use the full map, read any neighbourhood page, take the match quiz, tell the Companion about your move and get your first personalized recommendations. No card, no trial clock.
Do I need a subscription just to explore neighbourhoods?
No. Exploring is free and stays free. A plan is for the part that comes after: saving a shortlist, analyzing the places you are serious about, comparing finalists and producing a decision.
Why would I upgrade?
Two reasons. Depth: full analysis of specific addresses and areas, and side-by-side comparison of your finalists. And continuity: your priorities, shortlist and open questions are kept, so a search that runs over weeks does not restart every time you come back.
How does the free trial work?
Creating an account starts a 7-day trial with Professional-level access, minus report branding and client sharing. No card is required. The clock starts when you sign up, not when you first use a premium feature, so it is worth signing up when you are ready to dig in. When it ends, the free surfaces above are all still open to you.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
Analysis and Ask pause until your next billing period begins, or until you move up a plan. Nothing is deleted: your saved shortlist, reports and conversation history are all still there when the period rolls over.
Can I change plans partway through a month?
Yes. Moving up takes effect immediately and is prorated for the rest of the period. Moving down applies at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep the access you bought.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancelling stops the renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. You can also manage billing directly through the Stripe customer portal from your account page.
Is PickYourPlace a real estate agent?
No. PickYourPlace is an independent location decision tool for researching and comparing where to live. It does not represent you in a transaction and is not a substitute for professional, legal or financial advice.
Does PickYourPlace sell or list homes?
No. There are no listings and nothing is for sale here. The property data comes from municipal assessment records, which describe what exists and what it is assessed at, not what is on the market.
Where does the data come from?
Canadian public sources: municipal open data and assessment rolls, Statistics Canada, and federal and provincial hazard data. Every score says which measure produced it and what that measure does not capture.
Is the AI making up neighbourhood recommendations?
No. Which places are recommended, how they rank and what the trade-offs are is decided by a deterministic engine reading the location data. The model only writes the explanation, and it is checked against the underlying figures before you see it, so it cannot introduce a number it was not given. What the data cannot settle, the product says it cannot settle.
